Why SAMU Foreign Languages?

Samsun University Foreign Languages Department aims at providing the students with a qualified training–learning process to fulfill the skills and language they will need not only in their academic, social, and business life but also in other international mediums, being an effective means of communication because knowing a language is a necessity required in various fields of life. In this sense, we will be able to realize our objectives by practicing the following processes:

 To enhance an effective environment emphasizing the four language skills (reading, listening, writing, and speaking)

 To enhance suitable conditions for the students to improve their proficiency and confidence required in effective communication where the related language is used

 To motivate the students in learning a foreign language and to guide the students to improve their language skills and use them when needed

 To enhance a positive learning atmosphere where they are approved and supported by their teachers and peers

 To present the students the suitable learning methods and approaches to understand the system of the language through analysis

 To create opportunities for the students to use the language, to arrange curricular and extra curricular activities, and thus to support the students’ responsibility in terms of individual learning

 To make the evaluation and assessment activities as a part of the learning process and to assess the students according to their individual learning rather than comparing them with each other.
